Rebuilding a 50 year old organization
The Center for Auto Safety
Client Overview
Since 1971, the Center for Auto Safety has been the driving force behind lemon laws, vehicle recalls, and general road safety. While their advocacy work was legendary, their digital presence was falling behind. They needed a technology partner to modernize their legacy systems and amplify their voice in the digital age.
The Challenge & Solution
We were initially engaged to replace a legacy vehicle tracking application that was difficult to update. This partnership evolved into a complete website redesign and comprehensive digital strategy overhaul. By modernizing their tech stack, we helped the Center grow their supporter list by over 600% and establish a proactive media stance on emerging technologies like autonomous vehicles.
Key Deliverables
1. Custom Vehicle Database Development We replaced an outdated tracking tool with a high-performance, custom web application. By integrating real-time data from the NHTSA API with the Center’s proprietary records, we created a fast, searchable resource. Users can now instantly access:
-
Vehicle recalls and service alerts.
-
Consumer complaints and safety ratings.
-
A fully SEO-optimized interface for better organic reach.
2. CRM & Email Marketing Automation Converting site visitors into subscribers is critical for non-profits. We engineered API connections between the website, their CRM, and a bulk mail provider. This enables sophisticated email automation, sending subscribers personalized updates specific to their vehicle’s make and model.
3. Content Strategy & Podcast Production To maintain authority in the media, we launched and currently produce a weekly automotive safety podcast. We handle the technical production and format, covering topics ranging from electric vehicle safety to federal regulations, presenting complex issues in an engaging, accessible format.
